The below book The Food Lover's Guide to Seattle by Katy Calcott is a wonderful reference to the many excellent food shops in the city.

Specialty Food Stores

(Last updated 2/3/10)

I picked these shops because they have at least one of the three following factors: my own positive experience, recommendations from chefs I worked with and/or consistent positive feedback I’ve seen in SEA food community. Therefore, this might not be not comprehensive, but hopefully will make up in quality what it lacks in quantity.  I will be continuing to add to this on a regular basis.

The map color code gives you main cuisine available, but the location may offer more. Click on the map icon for details on the location and any notes I added about my own experience there.  Eventually I will list these out in text on this page too but I am but a mortal and I have to sleep sometimes even though I'd rather compute.
