Upcoming Icelandic cooking class (post includes bonus unnecessary slideshow of Iceland)

Before I give you the details on this cooking class, I am just going to dispense with one thing right off the bat.

If you like food, and keep up with food media, you probably have already heard, a zillion times, Anthony Bourdain’s extremely negative opinion about Icelandic food. I can’t do a post about Icelandic food, on a food site, without at least acknowledging it as a meme of sorts in the food world: it’s the elephant in the room.

So, yes, this famous food guy has famously said he did not care for the food of Iceland.

To balance that out, I will say this: I visited Iceland, and I have absolutely no memories of the food on the trip whatsoever. I think, in the context of the global reputation Bourdain has given the cuisine, this is actually singing its praises, don’t you? I was there for several days, I am not the kind of girl who skips meals, and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about any of the food.
