Bees, chickens, ducks, goats, rabbits: critter-keeping classes around Seattle

Do you want to join the urban homesteading movement & raise chickens and ducks or keep bees? There are a ton of classes coming up this spring to help you learn how to best create a productive urban menagerie.

Earlier this month, I checked out the Seattle Tilth Urban Farm and Chicken Coop tour to see what some of our Seattle homesteading neighbors are to. Check out the slideshow (click through to Flickr for the captions).

Want to start your own flock or hive? See the calendar of events below the pictures. The Seattle Free School is offering several FREE! chicken-keeping classes! If you already have chickens, consider leading a class yourself - the Free School is having a meeting this week to help potential chicken-keeping class instructors learn the ropes of teaching.
