Seattle French food and cooking events

Image via Flickr user PhototramWe just covered two French pastry specialties (macarons and petits fours), but if you'd like to expand your Gallic experience to other aspects of French cuisine, check out the below events and local resources.

General Resources

  • Want to learn some language along with your food? Check out the Alliance Francais of Seattle. They offer language classes and also put on each year's Bastille Day celebrations.
  • Or head up to Edmonds to Rick Steves' Travel Center, where they offer free travel language classes in French and other languages.
  • Chef Bertrand de Boutray is a local cooking teacher who offers private cooking classes.
  • Le Gourmand offers cooking classes on the last Sunday of the month.
  • Le Pichet offers no-cover music along with their French fare on Sundays.
  • David Amaris a professional French chef and a freelance chef instructor who offers "cooking parties followed by a cultural dinner, including learning French cooking, learning about the ingredients, the terroir, French culinary terms, [who] endorses using locally grown ingredients, minimally treated or organic.".
