Bees, chickens, ducks, goats, rabbits: critter-keeping classes around Seattle

Image via Flickr user JoysephDo you want to join the urban homesteading movement & raise chickens and ducks or keep bees? There are a ton of classes coming up this spring to help you learn how to best create a productive urban menagerie.

Of special note: Seattle Free School is offering three free chicken-keeping classes on March 15 to celebrate the four-year anniversary of its very first free class on chickens. I LOVE the Seattle Free School & can't imagine a better way to celebrate than by taking one of their classes.

There's a calendar of events below, & you can check out the permanent Critter-Keeping A La Carte page for even more local resources.

And also see the slideshow from last year's Seattle Tilth Urban Farm Tour. Pregnant goats in action! This year the tour will be on July 14, and if you're already a critter-keeper and want to join the tour, see the details at the event link here.
