Important site user note

Due to the volume of events covered, cancelations, sold out and full events might not always be updated in the calendar or old blog posts. Please always check directly with the event venue (links to venues or original postings are at the bottom of calendar entries or linked via the event name in blog posts) to ensure the event is still scheduled and available.

Bacon, butchering, charcuterie, off cuts, and more meat

Image via Flickr user The Delicious LIfeSo this is a first on Fresh-Picked. I've done one post on bacon in the past, but as a not big-time meat eater, I've never really felt compelled to do a very meat-focused round-up. Fresh-Picked is pretty wide-ranging, but generally I do post about stuff that I, personally, am interested in.

But I am seeing many meat-focused events on the calendar, and so figured I ought to set my personal preferences for once, and offer this calendar of classes, dinners and demos focused on meat and poultry. If you're looking for a big night out with the meat-lover in your life, curious about economical ways to cook your chicken, want to get started with butchery or sausage-making, check out the variety of events and classes on offer around the area.
