Postcard from AZ: Sonoran wild food and ethnobotany

Jojoba plant and nutHello Fresh-Picked folks! As mentioned, I am maintaining Fresh-Picked Seattle remotely this month while I am in AZ.

Fresh-Picked frequently covers wild food and foraging, so I thought some of you might be interested in what I learned on a recent edible plant walk here in AZ. It's been great to learn the flora of another region. It's amazing to me now to think I spent my entire childhood and several adult years here and was so resolutely uncurious about the environment that surrounded me. I am making up for that now!

Anyway, the picutres are below, and you can click through to the set on Flickr or on the Fresh-Picked Facebook page to read the captions.

More Seattle-based stuff shortly!
