Upcoming Gluten-Free Events
Image via Lise the LoserNeed to go gluten-free? There are several events coming up in the next few months that offer some guidance and support for making the transition to a gluten-free lifestyle. They also might be great opportunities to diversify your gluten-free diet if you've been eating that way for a while but have fallen into a rut.

- Wed, September 8, 7pm – 9pm: Living Gluten-Free at Evergreen Hospital. - Tue, September 14, 7pm – 9pm: FREE! Celiac and Gluten-Free Support Meeting at Whole Foods Redmond. "When you're living without gluten, up-to-date information is valuable beyond measure. Whether you're just starting out, or have been gluten-free for years, it can be a real challenge to get this information and find support! Why go it alone when your special-diet community gathers here? Dr. Wangen, a national expert on food allergies and intolerances, will help you understand the practical and scientific issues as you taste Reginald’s creations. You will learn how to prepare three family favorites that tend to challenge most bakers who cannot have gluten, egg, soy or dairy in their diets. - Class: Gluten-free Southwest Comfort. "Discover the popularity of Southwest cooking, a fusion of Mexican and Native American traditions embodied in stunning seasonal dishes. We’ll start with Green Chile Squash Stew (with an option to serve it in a gluten-free bread bowl), then on to one of Tiffany’s favorites, Gorditas, “little fat ones,” a chubby masa (cornmeal) base topped with delicious ingredients such as veggies and black beans. The meal continues with a refreshing Jicama Lime Salad and finishes with Citrus Flan topped with Chile-roasted Pine Nuts. It’s easy to see why this cuisine is always so alluring.
