Get Ready for Summer! BBQ & Grilling

Image via Flickr Southern Foodways AllianceThe weather was lovely this weekend, and your thoughts are likely turning to summer fun.

So this week, the Early Bird posts will have a special theme: Get Ready for Summer! I'm running a mini-series of posts on classes, tastings, and events to put you in the spirit of Seattle summer. There will be a round-up of rosé & summer wine events, and ice cream & frozen desserts. Today is all about BBQ & grilling. (Update! And camp cooking!)

If you're new to the world of outdoor cooking, we are heading into the season of BBQ & grilling classes, so it's a great time to sign up and plan to get yourself up to speed. Check out the below calendar for upcoming Seattle barbecue classes. The calendar also features some general BBQ-eatin' events, and will be continuously updated throughout the summer, so bookmark this post for the continual lowdown.

Also, quick update! Added a note to the Fresh-Picked Facebook page: REI will have several camp cooking FREE! classes in June. Click here to check out the round-up.

Also make special note of June 17. On that day, BBQ guru Steven Raichlen will be participating in a special Kim Ricketts book event with Tom Douglas.  See that date on the calendar for the full details.
