Weeknight Specials, 02/22/10-02/25/10
Brigadeiro Brazilian Candy image via Flickr ACorsiWith the gorgeous weather we’ve been having, you are probably not at a loss for ideas about what to do when you’re not at work. But the sun has to go down at some point, and you might want an indoor activity. So here are a few ways you could spend an evening out this week.
Also check out This Week in Freeattle for a whole week chock-a-block of free things to do.
Monday, February, 22 7pm: Science on Tap at Third Place Pub. Topic: "How does stress increase your risk of addiction?" with Charles Chavkin Department of Pharmacology, University of Washington. Get there early! It gets crowded!
Tuesday, February 23: Hit a Happy Hour. Now normally, I like to bring you a specific food event for these highlights, something happening just on that day or only every once in a while. But I decided this week to branch out and recommend something a little different. I’ve been familiar with Go Time Seattle for a while, and poked around the site. But this weekend was the first time I actually used the look-up-a-happy-hour-by-hour part of the site to plan for an outing later this week. It was so handy, I felt like I should give it a little shout-out here. Since it looks like most of the events on the Calendar for Tuesday are in-advance/not drop-in kind of events, I thought, why not recommend a happy hour? After all, they are a great opportunity to get some grub at a cheaper price and flexible if you don’t want to commit in advance. So if you are looking for something to do in the evening on Tuesday, check out Go Time’s listing of Happy Hours for that day starting at 5pm (you can adjust the time if you like).
Wednesday, February 24, 6:30-9pm: Desserts of Italy and Brazil (1st Class of a 2-Week Series). “In this hands-on class, you will learn how to prepare desserts from Italy and Brazil.
