On the Menu: Thu July 16 to Wed July 22
Photo by Ellie Van Houtte The highlights for this week run the gamut. You can take your pick from benefit dinners (including one that lets you take home your dinner bowl!) to free ice cream to dining with your dog. Or maybe all of the above.
Of course, peppered in among those are the summer staples of farmers markets with chef demos and many MANY festivals. I had to give the weekend festivals their own separate section, they were just clamoring for it.

Pottery Northwest Salad Supper Bowl Benefit. “The Salad Bowl is an annual event at Pottery Northwest. For the price of admission, $50 this year, you get to choose from 200 salad bowls one for yourself. You can fill it with salad as many times as you wish and we'll also serve kabobs, including vegetarian, and beverages.” (6-9pm)

Third Annual Strengthening Local Economies Everywhere Dinner & Fair. The Fair, from 3pm-6pm, is FREE! and open to the public, will have free workshops on topics like bee-keeping, composting and eating sustainably. The Dinner has varying levels of cost and will be prepared by “Portage Bay Cafe, Kaspar’s, and local chefs, using Fair Trade products and ingredients produced sustainably by small growers in the Pacific Northwest.” (Montlake)

The Phinney Neighborhood Association is having its Summer Beer Taste. $10-30 (4-7pm)
Sunday, July 19: It’s National Ice Cream Day and you can get FREE! ice cream at Whole Foods in Redmond while supplies last. (11am-1pm)
Monday, July 20: Three Dog Bakery and Barking Frog will be putting on a Dine with Your Dog Dinner, with proceeds benefiting Homeward Pet Adoption and Rescue. Your dog will get a specially-prepared four-course meal! (Woodinville, 7-9pm)
Tuesday, July 21: World Street Food Class at Cook’s World. Kettle Corn, Pretzels, Falafel and more! $60 (U-District, 6:30-9:30pm)
Wednesday, July 22: Outstanding in the Field, a dinner prepared by Chef Matthew Dillon to benefit (and using ingredients from) Seattle Youth Garden Works. $220 (UW Botanic Garden, 4-9pm)
