- Odunde Festival with Adefua Cultural Education Workshop. “An African Harvest Celebration for Families” with an African marketplace, interactive workshop, food sampling, music and dance, and more. (Continues Saturday & Sunday)
Friday, November 6
- 10:00am: Theo Chocolate and Caffe Vita FREE! public cupping and chocolate tasting at the Capitol Hill Caffe Vita. “Expect to cup Vita coffees from our Farm Direct partners around the globe and sample chocolates from the award winning chocolatier.”
- 3:00pm: FREE! Fungi Friday and Holiday Menu Tasting at Whole Foods Redmond. “Taste some of our favorites and get some great recipe ideas that will be a hit at your holiday parties! Join us in Salud for this free event, where we'll also be tasting out our Thanksgiving menu!”
- 6:30pm: Day of the Dead celebration at Phinney Neighborhood Association. “Begins with a candelight procession and ends with a festival at the Phinney Center…add your own personalized treasures to the community altar and enjoy live music, hot chocolate and crafts. Gather in the parking lot at 6:15 p.m. for the start of the procession, led by VamoLa! musicians and dancers. Check out Aztec dance by the Salinas family at 7:30; poetry reading by Los Nortenos at 8 p.m.; and a musical performance by Trio Lucero del Norte at 8:15 p.m.”
- 6:30pm: Wines Worth Giving Thanks For Tasting to Benefit Salmon Safe at Whole Foods Interbay. “$5 Donation to Salmon Safe in our Community Room Don't let paring wines with your Thanksgiving dinner be a source of stress. Let our Specialty Associate Team Leader Steph guide you through the multitude of wines perfectly paired for turkey, yams, and pies.”
Saturday, November 7
- Game Day at Columbia Winery. “Grab a taste of your favorite wine and hang around playing a friendly game of Hang Man, Taboo, Catchphrase, and our favorite, Pictionary. Look for Checkers, Chess and Backgammon set out around the fireplace…Wines by the glass, cheese plates and deli items available for purchase. Prizes, prizes and more prizes! No entrance fee….just fun!”

You can also buy Christmas ornaments and wafers (oplatki), Polish pierogi, home made cakes and enjoy a full course dinner. - 5:00pm: Oyster New Year Bash. “Elliott’s hosts the biggest oyster party on the west coast with 30 varieties of local oysters shucked to order, fresh seafood dishes, live music, more than 50 wines from Washington wineries, and beers from Fish Brewing Company and Maritime Pacific Brewing Company. $75 per person in advance, $85 at the door.”
Sunday, November 8
- 2:00pm: FREE! Day of the Dead Crafts for Kids: Creating Luminarias at Central Library.
- 2:00pm: Tea Traditions at The Hawthorn Tea Room in Tacoma. “We'll look at some of the oldest and most famous tea traditions, from China, Japan, Britain, and the United States--as well as how the different approaches to tea developed. $10, includes light refreshments.” With the Tea Geek, Michael Coffey.
- 5:00pm: FREE! Film: King Corn at PCC Edmonds.
