- 10:30am-12pm: Living Naturally: Tips for Healthier Holiday Eating at Bastyr Center for Natural Health.
- 11am: Create a Website for Your Small Business! at the Shoreline Library. “No programming required! Discover easy-to-use design tools that can build your small business website quick, cheap and easy. Covers the dos and don'ts, tips and traps of website design.”
- 12-1pm: Tour the Century 21 Digital Collection at the Central Library. “View a demonstration of the Library's new Century 21 Exposition Digital Collection, which includes over 1200 photographs and over 100 publications and postcards of the 1962 Seattle World's Fair.”
- 1-3:30pm: World Toilet Day in Northgate. “Celebrate World Toilet Day with a special story time for all ages! We will read stories about toilets and tushies, sing about toilets and you will even get to sign an unused toilet!”
- 1-2:30pm: Seward Park Guided Nature Walk. “Learn about everything from salmon to salamanders and mountain beavers to mahonias! Our naturalists will help bring the park alive for you with walks to the eagles nest, through the old growth forest, and along the water’s edge. Help us discover how the plants and animals behave and live as the seasons pass.” RSVP at link.
- 2pm: Isaac Layman – Paradise Gallery Talk at the Frye Museum.
- 2pm: Barry Lieberman and Friends: Travis Gore - Master Class at UW. “Event is open to public. Travis Gore, newest member of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra bass section, leads a master class with students of Barry Lieberman.”
- 6:30-7:30pm: Book Talk: Nothing In Reserve- Jack Lewis at Third Place Books. “Nothing in Reserve invites the reader to an intimate glimpse of one soldier’s journey to Iraq and back. Jack Lewis offers an unexpectedly vulnerable glimpse into one of the timeless tests men have faced: going to war, and returning home. Exploring the universal human question of how we move through our lives, Jack shares with us his own journey toward elusive redemption.”
- 7:30pm: Take Me There: Trans and Genderqueer Erotica at Elliott Bay Book Co. “Local contributors to Take Me There: Trans and Genderqueer Erotica (Cleis Press) join editor Tristan Taormino for this evening's celebration of the pleasure and diversity of transgender and genderqueer sexualities. Take Me There is a collection by, for, and about transfolk, genderqueers, gender outlaws, and gender-variant folks—people who challenge and defy rigid gender constructions. Tristan Taormino is an award-winning writer and filmmaker whose books include Opening Up.”

- 12-3pm: Basics of Drawing & Painting Portraits in Watercolor with Dan Riley at Daniel Smith. Two start times.
- 2-3:30pm: Book Talk: Fariba Nawa discusses "Opium Nation" at the Central Library.
- 2pm: Obliterate the Empty Page: Okay, I've Written a Novel — What Do I Do Now? at UW Bookstore. “Get tips and advice for your NaNoWriMo project from a panel of expert editors from the Northwest Independent Editors Guild: Kyra Freestar is a freelance editor specializing in both copyediting and developmental editing for authors and publishers. She also works for the Author-Editor Clinic, where she often writes for the blog The Editor's POV. Sarah Martinez, an editor at Pink Fish Press, has participated in NaNoWriMo since 2007. Before joining Pink Fish Press, she edited and read for a local literary agent. A specialist in working with writers on tight deadlines, developmental editor Anne Mini has helped quite a few NaNoWriMo participants overcome writer's block and revision reluctance. She also teaches writing and marketing classes, and writes Author! Author!, a popular blog for writers.”
