PCC Natural Markets - Offers full spectrum of cooking classes for the home cook focusing on healthy cooking and sustainable food. Also usually has gluten-free and raw classes. Their regularly scheduled store "Walks and Talks" are FREE!, including ones introducing gluten-free products. (Various)

Seattle Free School - FREE! Food-related classes have included cheesemaking, canning and bee-keeping. (Various)

Seattle Community Colleges - All offer some food and cooking classes. South Seattle Community College has a culinary program, many classes on chocolate, cake decorating and wine. (Various)

David Amar is a professional French chef and a freelance chef instructor who offers "cooking parties followed by a cultural dinner, including learning French cooking, learning about the ingredients, the terroir, French culinary terms, [who] endorses using locally grown ingredients, minimally treated or organic."

See local instructor Wendy Sykes of Four and 20 Blackbirds for pie & cookie classes, including some for parents and kids.

Fumiko B teaches Japanese cooking, sushi rolling, etc.

Johnna Dietz is a nutritionist and often offers classes around Seattle on topics like gluten-free eating and detoxing.

Pranee Halvorsen teaches Thai cooking at Cook’s World and other venues, also available for private classes.

Olaiya Land teaches at Dog Mountain Farm, PCC and other spots around town in addition to her own cooking classes on topics like Mediterranean cuisine, vegetarian cooking and more.

Kate McDermott is a pie guru and teaches pie-making classes.

Julie Negrin is a culinary and nutrition educator. She teaches at PCC & Bastyr, and focuses on heathy eating and cooking with kids.

Pinar Ozhal is a native of South East Turkey. She blends her Kurdish heritage with the other culinary traditions found in Turkey and the Mediterranean. Join her as she shares her passion originating from her mother’s kitchen and her father’s produce shop. She teaches at local cooking schools like Cook's World and Sizzleworks and offers private classes.

Pastry Craft (pastry chef Laurie Pfalzer) teaches a variety of intimate, hands-on baking, pastry and confectionery classes in your home by reservation or in kitchens around Seattle and on the Eastside.

Karuna Ram is a native of India who is passionate about cooking and sharing her traditions and stories from her culture. She teaches at local schools, has twice-monthly cooking classes on Saturdays at her home in Bellevue, and offers private classes.

Becky Selengut is the creator of Seasonal Cornucopia. She also teaches classes around Seattle on local/seasonal cooking, cooking for food allergies, and more. She has also led nettle foraging/cooking workshops. Sign up for her newsletter for her updates.

Lesa Sullivan offers personal chef services, catering and private cooking classes. She also teaches at local schools, including PCC & Pacific Culinary Studio. She focuses on local, sustainable ingredients and has a strong connection with organizations that support those ends. She is also a volunteer chef for Operation Frontline and works with FareStart and SPU's Food Recovery project.

Irina Vodonos of Moscow Gourmet Kitchen was born and raised in Russia. She teaches Russian cuisine, and specializes "in vegetarian dishes and [using] locally-grown, organic and seasonal ingredients whenever possible."
